Biography

Camille Zhang is a trilingual, multidisciplinary artist focusing on electro-acoustic (sound art) composition, visual art, sound design, and independent psychology and neuroscience studies. Culturally, she identifies as an Asian – North American feminist with French cultural influences. With a focus on sound art, Camille creates experimental music inspired by visual storytelling. She utilizes sound sources captured by manipulating everyday objects, challenging the boundaries between art forms and media. Her compositions have been performed in the U.S., Canada, and France and are informed by a passion for cross-disciplinary exploration.  In addition to her artistic practice, Camille has a deep interest in psychology and neuroscience, seeking to understand the connections between perception, emotion, and art. As a feminist and advocate for gender equity and women’s rights, she is committed to social justice and amplifying women artists’ voices. Driven by curiosity and innovation, Camille continuously pushes her creative boundaries while remaining grounded in a belief in the power of art to challenge, provoke, and inspire.
